The International Facility Management Association provides the following definition for facility management:
"A profession that encompasses multiple disciplines to ensure functionality of the built environment by integrating people, place, processes and technology"
We at Ganesha have found facility management a very natural fit for our customers as we have often played an integral role in the development of their workforce, thereby familiarizing ourselves with the goals of the organization. It makes sense for us to adopt the care and responsibility of the physical environment in order to sustain a workplace whose occupants are given the optimal workplace conditions to help achieve the organization’s goals. We believe that the facility manager has the highest degree of influence on the overall quality of life within the facility.
We provide both the hard and soft service aspects of facility management. The hard services of facility management include such responsibilities as ensuring that a building's air conditioning is operating smoothly, efficiently, reliably, safely and legally. The soft services of facility management include such things as ensuring that the building is clean and free of debris, maintaining overall appearance and landscaping, monitoring the performance of subcontractors and so on.
We currently have several such agreements underway and are gearing up our facility management team for several new partnerships.
